These little blades are pretty cool!

  2. #17
Cool. They look like they would make a great EDC.

  3. #18
Thanks they are good for that I carried one for a long summer when I made the fisrt proto run.

They where 440C and the one I used had snakewood I hammered that knife in the shop a real handy wide blade.

I used it to cut, scrape, pry, and leather work all the shit you should not do to a knife you know. But thats how you find if its a good design.

It fits nice in your front or back pocket and they look cool on a belt too hide well.

Oh yes I got a neat one building right now for a Gal that I am putting curly pink ivory wood on. I will flip a pix when finished.

Love that design. How much would a basic one cost with a skeletonized handle? No scales.

    Dom,
I still haven't sharpened mine yet. What is the best way to sharpen the blade? I know to tape it off but not sure what edge it is. Stone, strop?

  9. #24
Joe it depends on how dull the edge is if it just needs a touch up just strop it in a ceramic stick or leather with a cutting compound.

If its real dull use medium & fine grit stones, I do not know what you have for a sharpening system but I grind an edge in the shop at 20 to 25 degrees on each side.

Call me if you have any questions Joe it kept an edge for 4 months thats cool.

Fish I have never done one like that so I am not sure I mostly use damascus??? Db

Why do you want a Hippo like that?

I have not done one did not say I did not like them I have 10 workers arount the shop I use every day. No handles

I have a nice blade high contrast 1095 and pure nickel made by Chad Nicoles cool pattern the pictured tooth that is green let me know what type of hole pattern you had in mind see what we come up with.

You can see the handle shape its 1/4" X 2.1/4 area. It will look very cool all eched 100 % Damascus with filework maybe ??? Db

What's the best stone to sharpen these things with?
Also is the Hippo you made for me food safe? I misplaced the care instructions. Can you tell me about how to care for the knife again please?
