    Mk frontier griz

    Hey guys,

Once again, and with no doubt....Ed Martin has impressed me!!!

Some pics of my new Custom Frontier Griz knife by Ed Martin at Martin Knives of Texas. Out of the box...this knife is just amazing! I can't wait to use this in the field. It just might be my favorite knife in the collection! I configured this knife to add some "BT" features incorporated into a "Frontier style" knife for a more modern look. I also had Ed use a "MK" stamped logo.

    Some specs:

    3/16" 1095 with 5" blade satin finish
    Non-sharp clip point
    Thumb notches on spine
Paduak scales, black liners, and (2) 1/4" nickle pins
    Nickle Hilt
    Laynard hole

Photo gallery with full review coming spring 2010...

    Martin Knives Sidekick

The MK "Sidekick" ...that's right beside brother BT. Great fighter and more...!

    - 5" long 1/4" 1095 High Carbon steel w/black KG Gun Kote Baked Finish
    - The top edge sharpened approximately 3" back.
    - Balance right on the guard.
    - Weighs only 8.2 oz.
    - Hilt is aluminum
    - Handle is black canvas Micarta
    - sheath is an olive green Blackhawk #2.

If weight in a combat fighter or tactical military knife is a concern...this could be a good option. The Blackhawk sheath is a perfect fit...it seems as if they made it custom for the Sidekick. KG baked finish came out very nice...smooth, even and with no flaws!

Sometimes the "best of makers" are lost in the shuffle of high power marketing, buyers wanting the latest, and dealers promoting bizillion knives to consumers. So let's get some MK of Texas craze going on and post some pics! Its the gents at MK of Texas who started my passion for knives ...and of course, combined with my passion for outdoor adventures. The truth, no matter how many knives I may purchase past or present- it always comes full circle to my MK BT knife!

With that said, before you buy your next knife- make sure its more than just a cutting tool!

Hats off to Ed, Newt and family!

Now that is bad ass. Will have to add that to my collection of Martin knives, haven't seen it on the website though.
