I think it would be very interesting to see a step by step on the process from the Bar to a ready to handle Hawk head.

You seem to have a few Started.

Could we get some pictures of you doing the process?

I'll bet the folks here would enjoy seeing that.

    I know I would.

They're some nice looking hawks. Do you make your handles or buy them that way?
Be all excepting, to an extent. (My wife Anita's dinner time advice to our 8yo son.)

I have made a few from scratch but I buy them now just because of the time if takes. I can make the whole head in less time then it takes to make the haft.

I'm still sitting patiently waiting for your tutorial Nowicki

Great Hawks, and while i'll probably never have the opportunity to forge a hawk head of my own, I do have one that I intend to make a handle for.

is it called a handle or a shaft?

Are there any particular woods/timbers you reccommend for a handle? Reasons for particular woods? Any to avoid. I really like that stripey looking one of yours. What is it?

Too many questions huh? oops that was another question!

I got the picts taken but have to put it to words. Getting ready to get my van back. Brakes went out on the way to a special unit meeting of Martial Arts instructors yesterday. One of the hoses let loose. That was a fun drive,...Several roads and lights with no brakes...Blew most of my day yesterday. Hopefully I'll get to it when I get back.
