    Vallotton & Diskin???

Can anyone give me a little info about Vallotton & Diskin cutlery? I am looking at a V&D M1 Double Action Auto but I don't know anything about it. It looks like a solid blade, but I'd really like to hear someone else's opinion. I would especially love to hear it if anyone actually owns one.

    Thanks,
    Tony P.

i'm not familiar w. Vallotton & Diskin but Vallotton (never heard of Diskin Diskin) is a very accomplished maker.

I would easily recommend Vallotton's work, my only reservation (and this is ENTIRELY personal opinion) is that the scale lock pieces i have handled of his tend to be rather stiff in terms of actually manipulating the scale itself to release the mechanism. that said, once you successfully moved the scale, it opens like a DREAM

Thanks for the info guys. Ronin thanks for letting me know that this is a sweet blade. Just curious as to how much you paid for the knife. I saw it on thebladeshop.com for $110.00. Do you think that's a decent price for it? Basically I'm down to either this or a Lonewolf D2. I know the D2 is a beast. I wanted something that was not as huge. Anyway thanks again guys.

They (Vallotton and Diskin) generally take a production knife and convert it to auto or d/a.

They are high quality conversions, typically. The production knives they start out w/ are usually middle of the road stuff and one problem is that the market has been saturated w/ clones.

Make sure you get the real deal.

The ones at the blade shop look good and I paid about 100 for mine several years ago and I still think it was worth it.
