Desaulniers custom fighter

I picked this fighter up here recently, and can't wait for some nice weather to get up camping and put this to use. Handground by Alain Desaulniers with a 8.75" blade with some very deep hollow grinds. The handle feels great in the hand, and balances right at the guard. The blade steel is ATS34, and has a nice bead blast finish. The kydex sheath came with a tek-lok on it, but wearing this strong side you damn near have to unhinge your shoulder to draw the knife. So I pulled the teklok off, and added the paracord so I can lace it to my backpack. Once I get a chance to use this one, I will put up a more in depth review, but enjoy these pics for now.

Interesting grind on that bad girl... Never heard of the maker, but it looks like I should of...

Per Alain's website he has been making knives for 10 years, full time for 1 year and a member of the Canadian Knife Guild. I had never heard of him either till I saw this knife for sale here.

Really sweeping grinds on it. I've seen some of work previously . I don't think he's as well known down here. You got a good one !

Nice knife...looks like a big NM grind....how you gonna mount the sheath.

Inverted or cross draw ? 8" is alot of blade.

That's what I thought Mark, reminded me of NM recurve XL. I tried wearing it strong side with the tek-lok, and that didn't work, horizontal behind the back wasn't very comfortable. So I lashed it vertical on the right side of my backpack, and drawing from behind the back seemed to work, but no luck on re-sheating it. Figured that is as good a spot as any, and when I am up camping I have a BRKT Slither on my hip anyway. Can't wait to chop the shit out of some firewood with it!
