Could it be? I'm actually LEARNING some things in school! I was doing my world religions homework, and read that the Cherokee tribes fought with the English during the Revolutionary War. I had never heard this before.

Liberty and justice for some; it is the new American dream. God bless America.

Learning is a great joy. The discovery of new facts and ideas that help you understand the world around you can be really amazing. There is one book, it is not a particular easy read, that I recently read. It is the most amazing collection of information I have ever read. I wish that I had read it years ago. It traces the whats and whys of mankind throughout the ages and explains how we got to where we are. It is Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. The reason it came to mind is the Cherokee connection. The book talks about how Sequoyah (Sequoia), a Cherokee, devised the written Cherokee language in the early 1800's all by himself. Learning is wonderful.

If you must hold yourself up to your children as an object lesson, hold yourself up as a warning and not as an example...
George Bernard Shaw
Guns, Germs, and Steel was also the subject of a PBS special.
In Taliquah OK, the center of the Cherokee nation in this part of the country, the street signs are in English and Cherokee. Its the only written Indian language.
Little trivia there for ya.
