    Cool No hope you say?

Last year, Ron gave my little bro a JD sticker, couple of em I think, and one of the places he plastered them was on his skate board. Yesterday, after soccer practice, he was skating at the library adjacent to the soccer fields. When he took a rest, one of his buddies asked him what the JD was on the bottom of his skateboard. He said it was a sticker for this knife website that a short guy covered in tattoos gave him. He proceeded to tell his friend about the knife show (my little brother was in a pissy mood for the entire show with me, imagine that , Dan, hey, buy me that 500 dollar custom knife, and that 5 dollar knife that looks like a gun). Anyway, another one of his friends sat down with them, and they started talking about knives. Remember, this is a rural community, and a lot of people hunt, fish and everyone camps, regardless of what their political leaning is. Anyway, my buddys friend, who my brother swears has a Busse, although he never heard of a Busse before from me, started talking about the knives he has.

NOW MY LITTLE BROTHER WANTS ME TO BUY HIM A BUSSE! Hey, we wants one too!

Actual quote from me to him "Paul, I'll give you a Swamp Rat, thats just as good!"

Anytime I take him to a knife/gun show, he always throws it in my face "Remember what that guy with the tattoos said, buy me a knife!" (what Ron told me after hearing the lament of buying my bro a 40T trainer.

Little bastard doesn't know he's getting a BM bali from me down the road, and a Grip and Native this year for b-day and Xmas .

So, my little brother now wants a Busse. He has made his way to the Busse website. Waiting for the "I want to meet Amy-O" any minute. Get in line, chief.

damned good of you to keep him on the proper path.
Yeah, little bit of pain never hurt anybody. If you know what I mean. Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. Shit 'em right up. Makes it look like we're serious. Guns for show, knives for a pro.

It's my fault for getting him the good stuff right away .

I haven't even given him the Benchmade or Spyderco yet. He wants a Tomahawk brand knife (United Cutlery brand) that looks like a Tops, I am afraid he will cut his hand off, want to get him something with a guard. He sure found the expensive stuff quick, though.

Oh yeah. Maybe its because I am a product of the Maryland public education system, but for the longest time, until Scott Gossman told me the right pronunciation, I thought Busse was pronounced Bue-see, similar to Busey. My brother had the correct pronunciation, Bus-sey, like bus.

My eight-year old daughter has a small collection of knives started, mostly Spyderco, and is well-versed in their usage. For the time being they are kept with my knives, are kept put away, and she uses them only under supervision. She has been helping cut things up in the kitchen since turning about 4 and continues to develop her knife skills. She has been hassling me for a Pink Spyderco Delica and a Spyderco CLB Lava for a number of months now - I wonder what Santa Claus will bring her this year?

BTW - no joke - her favorite knife is the Spyderco Harpy SE.

    God, I love that kid.
