Thread: Benchmade 10100 ??

    Question Benchmade 10100 ??

I'm very interested in this new Benchmade knife. IMO one of the most innovative folders to come out in a long time, by the look of it. Thinking of buying one soon.

Does anyone own one that could tell me what you think? or if anyone has read good, honest, reviews of this knife? I have searched on the web, but very little out there.

I particularly would like to know how easy it is to open because the "tail fin" moves in & out with the blade and I enjoy my folders opening effortlessly.

I think this would make a great addition to my EDC's and intent to do so, thanks for any input.

I don't know how smoothly it works but it is the very best modern version of the old marbles Safety Folder that anyone has ever done.

If made right--and I have no reason to think it is not made very well--It should be a super seller and the best way to have a large blade folder.

Benchmade usually makes pretty good stuff so I would assume that this one is top notch too.

It is made in Taiwan but looks to be well made. I always liked the Marbles Safety Knife idea and I might get one some day.

We bought one here at work to check it out, and it is very cool. Despite being made in Taiwan, it works quite well. It locks up well, but it doesn't always pass a tap test, so beware of hammering on the back of the blade. Still, there's nothing quite like flicking your wrist and deploying a 6 inch blade... we all get that maniacal grin on our faces when we lay with it....

I love the concept but why the hell would they make this thing with a liner lock instead of an Axis lock? Hopefully they will release a blue class version with an Axis.

    Thumbs up

Thank you for the info everyone !

I'm going to buy one, looks like the perfect addition to my EDC's and a concept I have been very interested in.

After I receive the knife and strip it down to the very last bolt to see how well it is made, I will post a review.

    Thanks again.

I think you would have to be nuts to have a blade this big in a folder when you have already been warned about the lock failing. Its just asking for a lost finger or three.

Maybe if it were an Axis lock... but a liner lock??? Thats a very difficult strain on a big knife like this. I would not trust a Taiwan knife with a liner lock on this. Liner locks are tricky to do at the best of times.

Hmmm...I'd feel ALOT better if it was an Axis, or a framelock. Lot of blade to fold up when you least want it too... Still, if you like'em big, it might be worth a look....
