...at what age did they get an interest in knives (if ever). And for those with very young ones, at what age do you plan to introduce them to our sickness.
I have a six year old. He already seems to have the bug. I was not going to push it but rather nurture it if he showed an interest. His grandfather actually seems to have got the ball rolling. (My father-in-law) He is an old school KnifeNut, a hardcore Case Collector. My son spends a fair amount of time with him as he is retired and of late has come home with a couple folders obtained there. I was rummaging through my gun safe a couple weeks ago and he showed a lot of interest when I was fondling my knives. I tried to teach him about fixed blades verses folders (he's only 6 as I said). Talked to him some about liner locks versus framelocks. Of course many of my knives were from Chris Reeve knives.
So today, I got a pair of Neil Roberts Warriors in via UPS. I was opening the package and hadn't said a word. And then my six year old from out-of-the-blue says:
"Are those Chris Reeve Knives".
Swear to god. I was floored. He recognized the logo from a couple weeks ago and put it together.
So now for you sappy stories.............................

My 17 year old daughter on the other hand, has NO problem with them at all! I used to take her to the NCCA shows in CT when I had a table there, and she's be "clicking" away the whole time. (she brought in more customers than I did! LOL!) She's very happy with MY collection, she considers it hers that I'm just taking care of for the time being! LOL! She has only asked for two knives for herself. The first, a 9" stiletto w/purple acrylic scales when she was 12, which I promptly handed over to her. The only other knife she's ever wanted so far, was a year latter, but I had to turn her down on that one, a $3500 custom that we saw at the show! The kids got good taste though! LOL!

I want answers!~>
