    The extinction

of production knives in my collection is almost amazing. At one point, I had 4 cherry wood knife displays. Three of them were full of production knives and one full of customs. Less than a year later and now 3 are full of customs and only one of production knives. Below is a picture of most of my current production knives. There is a story behind each one as thats why I still own them. I thought I would share:

1-Microtech UT6- This is my last MT OTF and I always loved the blue with satin so it will NEVER go anywhere

2-My first and LAST LCC D/A-I had 6 of these but this is the first one I got that started the MT sickness and it will remain forever as well

3-L-UDT with Odin's Eye damascus-My favorite damascus pattern anywhere and I promised it to my son someday, so its staying

4-Benchmade 630 proto-This knife encompasses everything I find appealing about custom knives and I value this as much as any custom

5-MT hand ground Terzuoa- Bob found a number for me that means something to me and this is my favorite MT of all time

6-My Lrg. Mayonized Sebbie- This is the smoothest knife I own and its not going anywhere

7-Cutters Knife and Tool #2 with CF- Got this one from Sucker. I wanted it for almost a year before I scored it and although I once had three CKTs, this one will stay around in my collection

8-Celtic Sebbie- I waited for this knife for what seemed like an eternity from CRK, and when I got it , it exceeded my expectations and its going to be one of those knives that stays till my passing

9-Case Caribbean blue- This was a Christmas gift from the wife, hence it stays

10-Al Mar Osprey with MOP- This was a Christmas gift from the wife, hence it stays

11-Spyderco Kiwi- This was a Christmas gift from the wife, hence it stays

12-Buck 112 100th Anniversary- This was a Christmas gift from the wife, hence it stays

13-Benchmade Leviator 1st production run- I am into celtic knotwork so this one was pretty much made for me

14-Buck Mayo- I have one of the fist out of the factory and sold it in a moment of weakness. Bob was nice enough to help me correct my mistake almost 2 years later and its not going anywhere

15-Spyderco Endura II- This is the knife I had on me when my son was born, so I have sentimental attachment to it.

Do you have any knives that regardless of how your tastes change, aren't going ANYWHERE?
It is not the Death Rattle in the throat of Western civilization which is surprising: it is the fact that millions of Americans believe that the death rattle is a beautiful song!

By the way, Although my production knives seem to dwindle down to gifts, sentimental knives and such. I can see the new Benchmade 635 and a few fixed blades from Bark River entering the picture soon

Benchmades, Spydercos and BRKT will be a staple in my collection for as long as they make the quality product they make.

Great knives and reasons for keeping them.

I'm following your lead there BG. There are a LOT of nice production knives made today that I own and will buy new models from the better Mfg's, Bench made, SOG, Spyderco,Protech, ECT ECT. But the customs are really grabbin my attention now more than ever. The Best thing is that if you keep your eyes open,You can find Mint customs and NOT pay retail!

Looks like you kept the best ones. That is still a very nice collection of production knives.

TBG - Your celtic Sebbie is one of the finest unique graphics I have EVER seen. Maybe you could post some close up pics for us.
