Beer: I like Leinenkugals, Youngling when I can get it, Lasko Pivo (Slovenian), Singha (Thailand), Smithwicks, Moosehead, Guiness, Becks, Pilsner Urquell (Czech), Dos Equuis. Dark beers and ales rock, but lagers and pilsners are good, too...

I like wine, mostly red, and I'm not real picky about it. I do like it to at least have a cork, though...

Bourbon is good, Buffalo Trace and Wild Turkey, and George Dickel tennesy whisky is good, too.
And single malt scotchs, hard to beat sometimes!

I like Belvedere vodka. w/splash o tonic water, twist o lime

I like Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, if I do drink beer. Which is rare. I don't see much point in beer period to be honest. I prefer liquor or wine.

Some wines. Depends on my mood.

    Woodchuck draft cider amber flavor

    Twisted Tea

Keystone Light on rare occassions(Kmart Coors Light)

Jack Daniels on a cold night only

any peppermint schnapps in the wintertime

I'm a sucker for mixed drinks, my current favorites are "sex on the beach" and "orange crush"

    whiskey sours

I used to like Smirnoff Triple Black and all the Mikes flavors, except now I can't handle the high sugar content

sometimes fruity wines, if thats all there is

my drink of choice used to be diet coke and rum, then diet sprite and rum. I bought a lot of coconut rum, started putting a dash of diet sprite in the cup with the rum after a while

I'm really partial to Fuller's London Pride - closest thing to a trip to London for $2.50 a pint. I opened a couple, watched Layer Cake and my wife got to ogle Daniel Craig. What else is could I ask for?

In the summer I really enjoy Silver Bullet, in the winter, I love Newcastle's, Smithwick's, London Pride, Fuller's 1845, things along that line.

I also have a fondness for Theakson's Old Peculiar, Fuller's London Porter or Flying Dog Gonzo Porter. These three really have a taste of meat to me and I enjoy a steak and brew. This one fullfils both requirements at once!

I really cannot do Stouts any longer, "beers" that dark tend to leave me with bad hang-overs, but it's been several years since I drank enough of them to put me under in the first place.

As for wines, maybe another post, with a trip to the cellar being in order, but if you run across a bottle of Linne Calodo Problem Child or Sticks and Stones, you are in for a genuinely happy treat. Even folks who sneer at the swirl, sniff and swig crowds dig on these wines, but they are genuinely hard to find, being that the vineyard produces about 500 bottles a year of each - instead of thousands of cases.....

Also, if you can find some Hunt Cellars Rhapsody in Red, it is fantastic stuff and not so pricey - about $30 a bottle.

Finally, the Brits have it really right about their Ginnin Tonnyx - I prefer either Saphire, Boddles, or Tanqueray 10 and Schweppes Tonic Water, and I truly enjoy this with both a lemon and a lime present. WE have no malaria in Chicago, but I have it on good authority (my own) that this also prevents scurvey and West Nile (I have neither scurvey nor West Nile)

If you want to go Russian, Stoli Orange and soda with a lemon and lime is very refreshing in the summer after a hard workout and also makes the bumps and bruises irrelevant.

If I'm in the mood to drink I go with bourbon, buffalo trace is my current favorite. If I just want something cold and refreshing I go with Bud heavy, or Newcastle.

I'm really easy going, Ill take anything thats not Mass produced American (with the occasional exception of miller lite if im DESPERATE)

my flavor of choice is Guiness (bottles please), or a good red wine (Casillero de Diablo preferably).

    scotch (neat) lephroaig if possible
vodka on the rocks with either 7up or cranberry, or just a dirty martini (olives and blu cheese) - smirnoff is fine but i loves me some belvedere

i dont usually do tequila but exceptions have been known to occur.

Just so you know, some of the better vineyards are not only going to the synthetic corks, some are even using screw-top bottles for some very nice and surprisingly priced wines.

Bonnny Doon, out of Santa Cruz CA, offers both synthetic corks or screw-tops and at good price points. I used to really love their Cardinal Zin, which was illegal to sell in Cincinnati as the bottle depicted a Catholic Cardinal as a caricature ala Ralph Steadman.

Speaking of Steadman, when he was not inking illustrations for Hunter Thompson, he wrote a nice book on fine wine and has done illustrations for Flying Dog Brewery as well as a fantastic Syrah named Monte's Folly.

you know, i'm just finishing Steadman's lastest book on his experieces with Dr. Thompson. i definitely recommend it.

btw, it's called 'the joke's over'.
Yeah, little bit of pain never hurt anybody. If you know what I mean. Also, I think knives are a good idea. Big, fuck-off shiny ones. Ones that look like they could skin a crocodile. Knives are good, because they don't make any noise, and the less noise they make, the more likely we are to use them. Shit 'em right up. Makes it look like we're serious. Guns for show, knives for a pro.

Synthetic corks don't bother me too much, and was mostly thinking about stuff like Boone's that use caps... :spin:
