    prototype machine pistol

Not actually intended to be produced. The Makarov was used to prove the designer's ideas for a rotary bolt submachine gun.

I have seen some cool designs out of the former Soviet Union. I wish we could get some imported into the U.S. but..........

The Rooshian mafia doesn't bring them in? I like some of the high powered ammo they are making. I saw one website claiming a 9x21 round with a 65 grain bullet at 1970 fps. :smt103

The Rooshians understand money, thats a fact. The 7.62x25 would cut through steel like cheese. I fired a PPSh once and it was the shit. Their firearms are not fancy but get the job done.

I wonder how much longer we have to wait before some ammo company brings out a 9x24?? :P

i used to read about ipsc competitors using wildcat rounds like the 9x25 at really high pressures/speeds but i don't think they would catch on in the general population.most people want/use what the police use but they don't realize that most cops don't know shit about guns-they use whatever their department issues them.

Too true. And we're expected to believe that they can be trusted to carry a loaded weapon but someone who loves guns and shoots as a hobby can't.
Have you ever heard whether IPSC shooters have any trouble with the semi-rimmed case of the .38 Super?

it's been awhile since i've seen mention of it ,i don't think it really caught on in the competitive shooting community

I have a Glock 29 that is a 10 mm. I have a 9x25 Dillon barrel that drops in and I use the same magazine. The 9x25 Dillon is a 10 mm case necked down to 9 mm. The current factory ammo I am shooting is a 125 grain Speer Gold Dot hollow point at approximately 1600 fps.

One gun, 4 barrels; one magazine. From left to right: .357 Sig, .40 S&W, 9x25 Dillon, and 10 mm.
Some of us has decided to add your name to the list of never sell to; we suggest you step back from your keyboard and take a 1-2 year break fro the internet.

The 9 x 23 really had promise. Hotter specs than the .38 Super +P and none of the quirks of the 9 x 25 rounds (doesn't need a 10mm size pistol). It fit into a standard 45/38 Super envelope and standard .38 Super mags and big time factory support from Winchester. Unfortunately, the came out right before the .357 Sig was introduced. It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if both of those rounds had come out after the magazine ban when 1911 style pistols really took off. A 357 Sig is just as much of a compromise as a 9mm or 40 S&W in a full size 1911. Shorty cartridges stuffed into "blocked" mags. As far as I know, the only bottleneck high velocity cartridge that was built specifically for a 45 size frame was the .400 CorBon.
