    Martin Dive Knife

From my den of knives, this is my new Devilz Dive Knife, MA11 Aquatack II from Martin Knives.
    4.5" blade, S30V, 9.5" OAL.
This is the #1 knife, other than the prototype which was tested pretty rigorously. Its got a hollowed out place in the handle and removable screws for survival fishing stuff, etc.

That's a well thought out design. Most dive knives are little more than crowbars. This one has much broader utility and will still pry with the best of them. Nice.

Also very important to note, is that it looks like it will pop a cap of a bottle of beer with speed and accuracy! :jdwink:

    Very cool indeed.

Extreemly cool looking. Do you dive at all, or was it just the knife that you couldn't resist, regardless of having no use for it?

Naw I don't dive. I'm a bit phobic about diving.
I was talking to Ed Martin on email and saw the chance to get the first one so I jumped on it.
They have a proto tanto version being tested by some Navy Seals right now.

How does S30V hold up in a marine environment?

I really like that!! I do a bit of freediving and spearfishing and am always on the lookout for a good work horse for the briney stuff.

The S30V requires a little more effort after exposure to saltwater than say 440C, but is still acceptable as a wet enviroment steel. Fresh water rinse and dry it well. It is extremely tough and makes a great hard use knife. This particular knife would do well in 440C also, IMHO.
