    Superb Mike.

Probably the first "Bushcrafter" I have seen that I like the look of.

I'm sure it will do well with the Mears brigade in the UK.

    Cheers.

Oh yes! I have been waiting to get my hands on this knife for a long time!

Come on Mike, spill the beans! Stainless? Carbon? Rc? Blade length? Thickness? Full convex? Hard to tell from the pic.

One thing I have learnt is that what we Europeans use our knives for in the activity of "bushcraft" is somewhat different to the American use.

There are few instances where we use our knives for cleaning game or the like for example. We tend to use our knives more for shelter building and general camp tasks. Feather sticks, cutting notches for poles and the like. Prepping veg and wood carving. Opening tins if needed. Light chopping and the like. Otherwise we use an axe or a blade like the Forrester.

You really don't see many 10" fixed blades used.

My personal blade is just over a 4" edge. Does everything I want and more. This looks a LOT like my personal knife.

Here is what we know so far on the final Specs:

    Steel--A-2
    Thickness:--.170"
Rockwell--59rc with the tang drawn to 48rc.
    Overall Length--9.5 Inches
Blade Length: 4.5 Inches--New England Version is 4 inch.
    Grind--Full Height Convex.
    Handle Slab--5 inches.

The Area that the fingers rest in is 4.25 Inches.

The handle will be Contoured as shown.

I don't know the Final Weight because this one was only given a Quick Grind for a Sheath Sample. I didn't even bother to Weigh it.

The Sheath is the Leather Ero-Style Rectangle and will have the loop for the Fire steel.

It also has the Rivets for attaching any of our other sheaths in Piggyback. Spen & Dan are also Working on some other pouches that can be attached for accessories.

Here is the same sheath that I use for my Fox River.

You will also be able to order a firesteel that has a matching handle to your knife.

I have the Ferro Rods in Stock Now.

This will be a Fun Project.

    WAyne,

I have plenty of Sambar but not very much that is 5 inches long.

It is getting very hard to get in the larger sizes.

I'll call my supplier and see if She has any left at all.

I can get plenty of Sheep Horn. That is my personal Choice.

I am interested in antler as the instructors woodlore knife has this material as it represents the added weight of responsability that a person that teaches outdoor skills now has. The antler is heavier than the wood handle you see.

I kind of liked the sound of that.

    Thumbs up

You are going to sell Shedloads of these in the UK!

Couple of questions for you Mike.

    1. If you order (say) Amboyna Scales, does the firesteel come with a matching handle as standard?

    2. Is the 4" blade "new england" model, for New England USA, or for the UK market?

    Bog,

The New England Version is for the U.S.A. but anyone can order one.

The Firesteel is not Standard and I'll come up with a Price for it.

I bought the Ferro Rods from " Light My Fire" and I have to come up with a price on making the handles.

I'll keep everyone informed as we get closer.

Any dealer offering them for sale at this point may be going off a little Half Cocked or having a Case of Premature Ejaculation.

All is not 100% settled on final Prices and options.

Dan & Spen Just Got the Sheath Sample Knife and I don't even Know what they are going to charge me for the Sheath Yet.

The Dealers have been asked to give us thier tentitive orders and one of them thought that it meant to start Selling the knives. He asked My permission to post the info--After he posted it.

I have removed it here but I don't know where else he posted it.

I have this funny thing about wanting to give all the info Myself.

    :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao: :roflmao::roflmao:

It must just be me--thinking I was actualy in charge of my Company.

    :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D

Regardless of that-=-I think You are right about how popular it will be.

I am only making 500 in the First Run. 250 for Joe in the U.K. and 250 for My 3 U.S. Distributors. At the Rate the orders are coming in--these will be all spoken for --to the Dealers and Distributors at the opening Bell.

Bog--I do know that Mike'sknives in the U.K. will have them in Stock. Joe told me of another popular dealer that will have them too. He is a Regular poster on BB and he is a Stockist--not just an internet Jockey.

This should be a very exciting Project and I fear I have not cut out enough of these.

Aye, parts of New England are wicked AR about how big knives are. Not my part, but I'm 5 minutes away from the part that does.

    I love old laws.

    Mike,

That is looking very sweet. I cannae wait to see the full line displayed (and I'm sure I'm not the only one).

    Sean,

Cutting the knife Down a half inch from the point is not a big job.

They will all be done by hand by Skittles or Jimmy and I feel that having that version avalible makes it far better for the Guys that live and go Outdoors in those areas.

Same for the Folders--when we get to them.

I'll offer a special U.K. Legal Version so the Gang in the U.K. don't get in trouble with them.

Old Laws are a Pain but it's better to be safe.
