Does anyone know what this is like yet? Looks like a BM239If it's made just like the 239, I think I'll get one of them!

I'm on a strict diet of no Bear and Sons while the nasty aftertaste of the B400 is still lingering...
could have been so good if they just put a little effort into it

Having owned two different Bear & Son knives in the past, I would stay far far away from them. At that price though, I can probably guess that the handles are zinc like their other low end models. If the knife doesn't fall apart after a month I'd be shocked.
I've owned the black version for a year or so. The handles are some cheap cast metal, zinc is probably right. The coloring is a textured epoxy that starts to flake off the second you pick it up. The pins loosen up pretty quickly, I had to stop using mine after a couple of months out of fear that it was going to fall apart mid flip. There is no latch gate so the latch will get stuck on the blade.
Not a great knife, but slightly better than most CCCs.
One of my homeboys at work picked up a bear and sons cheapo the other day.....
....and the F+F is wayyyy better than Bear Ops..
Whats up with that?
wait thats the wrong Sinbad...
there we go
my friend purchased one of the bear and son balis with micarta inserts and the F+F was great on it. i bought one of their trainers and it was meh. the tang pins dug in too hard and now the handles touch and the blade is loose. but better than what ive seen from bear ops
Dear you. This is the same balisong that I had for about 2 weeks, and its made of the same materials. Here have a look at what it is today.

Good steel my ass. But you cant get any better for the price really...
I do have one of the balisongs like the broken one pictured above, and yes it did break after about a week in the exact same manner. I also however have that bear balisong pictured with the exception that mine has the chisel ground tanto blade.
While the fit and finish is not that of a high quality balisong and it has gotten pretty lose, I actually highly recommend it especially for that price. I've owned mine for going on 4 years now and have abused the hell out of it and it is still here working great. While it does not feel like a 42 by any means when flipping, its not suppose to.
I would go as far as to say it is hands down the best bali in its price range that I have come across. I don't know how to describe its handles but they do not feel like the cheap zamak stuff on the CCC's. It might just be the finish on them but I don't think so because they have held up for a very long time.
It really is disapointing. But, I guess somebody has to make a "butterfly" knife to give away or sell at carnivals across America.

I would not suggest buying anything from bear...just falls apart
