Marty Young Ursus framelock

Hey guys,

Thought I'd throw up some pics of a cool knife I scored from another JD member. Its made by Marty Young and its his Ursus model. It really was a great score. This thing is so well made and so easy to carry. Its 8,5 inches in length when open, got a 3,5 inch blade. Slabs and blade are both 3mms thick. It carries real easy in the pocket, very light but its still plenty of knife for whatever. The blade is beautifully hand-rubbed by Marty, got a great edge on it. Steel is CPM-154 at around 60RC. Cool high hollow grind. The relief holes add a nice touch I think... solid, old school knifemaking at its best. I'm enjoying it a lot. Great work by Marty!

Thanks dude. As we know, the reality is a knife spends far more time in your pocket than yr hand so I wanted one that I knew would carry comfortably. Had too many 'beefy' knives that were just a pain to carry.

very true, a beefy knife has it's place but my front pocket isn't the place.

Hey Marty! The knife is doing great... I carry it pretty much every day. I really like how easily it cleans up. I have a phobia about rust so I dig how I dont really have to stress about this knife rusting if I forget to clean it.

That girl I found in a booty thread somewhere... I dig them reds! She aint local but we have ones here that are just as good for sure.
