It’s taken 9 different dogs and 65 long years to makeme the gentle, patient, mellow man that I am today.Don’t be fuckin’with me and piss me the fuck off!
That is one sexy beast of a blade man: Loove that blade finish, also beautiful choices of wood and the contours you put in them, and the curve to the swedge is sweet! etc etc etc basically I love everything about that blade man. And I espicially enjoyed reading through the entire WIP and pickin up some tips and tricks. Haha, thats funny how ya used that magnetic bubble level to hold onto the blade while grinding the edge on, and for a straight edge like that, I can see that basically working like a bubble jig as well, allowing you to keep the blade level along the entire edge as you slide it across the platen, Genius! I'm deffinitely goin to start using this forum alot for now on instead of just browsing from time ta time. There so much info and inspiration in this WIP and others along with all the other threads. Anyway thanks for taking the time to share your work and journey with us and good luck in the Build off! Happy halloween brother

man looks great
I thought I'd update this WIP with photos of the recently completed sheath for this build-off knife, which is now officially called the "Jaybok". - JD Build Off Knife
The Jaybok sheath is OD green on one side and black on the other. I left the spine of the sheath open to allow easy insertion/withdrawal and left a tab for an ITW Web Dominator to aid in retention when needed. The Web Dominator isn't really necessary . . . you can shake the sheath upside down and the Jaybok won't come out, but it offers an extra bit of reassurance.

Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says "Give me your best shot pal. I can take it."
Absolutely beautiful work man, the acid stonewash treatment and the dark tones in the wood of the scales look terrific together the handles are shaped great as well would love to feel this chopper in hand.![]()
Even when the world is at peace, a gentleman still keeps a blade by his side.
