Thread: Knives with Carbon Fiber?

    Knives with Carbon Fiber?

Hey guys - I've been really intrigued by some of the knives I've seen around the web lately. I've been especially intrigued by the Benchmade 940-101 with the Carbon Fiber / Titanium Handles.

So I'm curious. What are some other quality knives produced with Carbon Fiber? I'd really like the next knife that I purchase to have Carbon Fiber somewhere on it.

If you could, It'd be great to let me know of a price range for any knives you suggest. Thanks a lot for the help.

There's a bunch out there. Some that come to mind are...

    Spyderco sage 1: About 120

    Spyderco Gayle Bradley: 140

    Nemisis knives Manx: 107

various Pro-tech knives but I'm not sure on prices

    Spyderco Vallotton: 164

Microtech makes a bunch but they are a shady company and I personally wouldn't buy anything from them.

    Benchmade Shoki: 191

I know there's tons more but I can't think of them ATM.

The Kershaw Tyrade Titanium is an often-overlooked gem....solid Ti framelock with carbon-fiber inserts gives it a nice grip....

Here's most of the CF knives I've got. A few are headed out the door in the morning, but here's the list.

    Top to bottom, left column:
    Spyderco
M390 CF Military - $230 from knifeworks, I think they trade at ~$275-300 now.
Superhawk - $no idea, bought mine used on the forum here. $140 I think was my price.
Navaja - $150, this is a standard production knife.
M4 Gayle Bradley - $140, this is a standard production knife.

    Benchmade
250 Axial - $they didn't make these long enough to get an idea for price, they go for $75 to much more on eBay.
940-101 - $320, you started the thread with this one of course.
941D2CF - $400+, run of 500 from several years ago.
746-1201 - $200 when released earlier this year for SHOT show, trade for $225-250 or $300 on eBay.

Right side is 3 Benchmade 950-1201 Rifts. Benchmadeforum Forum knife, $180 to members of the forum, but they seem to go for $350+ on eBay.

I recently picked up a Spyderco Sage 1 off ebay...you can get them for $99 shipped. Great EDC size, good ergos and S30V steel. The CF has a nice texture to it.

The scales are a laminate of CF on top of G10...I think some of the other CF scale Spydercos are similarly constructed.
