What other revolvers ha a trigger as smooth as a Colt Python?

Refreshing to know that guns of the past lived up to a higher standard of workmanship.

These days, only high end guns fit the bill. So are there actual custom makers for revolvers?

I have a few nice revolvers. It's not bad having a couple or more added....

Rick, I have had a lot of fun finding older revolvers in the past, will do so again shortly.

Cylinder and Slide does fine work on revolvers, as does Bowen Arms. Bring your wallet. You'll be selling a few balis real quick into those projects.

But the older SW guns tend to get slick and smoooooth after a few thousand rounds.

Plus, it is FUN being at the gun show, finding a SW 357 N-frame 3 1/2 inch with a cross hatch topstrap and realizing this is the nicest coolest thing you're gonna find today....and the trigger just gently gives you a reach-around and whispers sweet nothings in your ear. Your smile will make the seller's day.

C&S looks like they do a mighty fine job on some stock guns. I am interested in their 686 and their 1911s.

Any experience with either? I like their premium 1911s. It may actually be better than a Wilson with what they've done with them.

He also likes Jack Daniels and Coors Lite in the off-time, as well as good scotch and "better beer." I've never heard ANYONE say a bad thing about C&S and you know how shooters love to talk.

The neat thing about C&S is they actually teach folks very well about their firearms. If you can train folks how to do it, can articulate it over and over, chances are you do it well, very well.

I have shot a couple High Powers that C&S converted from 40-cal to 9mm, and the workmanship was amazing, function was flawless.

I was about to get a Volkmann that I saw for sale. However, the link you provided looks to be a superior firearm for reliability, functionality and accuracy. Thanks.

Now I know where some bonus money can be put to good use. I still like the 686 that is listed on their site, too.

Note: Their business model differs a bit from most other 'smiths. You sign up for the work and pay for it in advance. Then they contact you at some later date to tell you it is time to send in the firearm. Turnaround from there is pretty quick but it takes several months to get the notification to ship.

the Python's were all hand fitted in the Colt Custom Shop, and thus the beautiful trigger. nobody is putting out that kind of work these days-except custom gunsmiths. but any good "smith" can work up a nice action on any S&W.

My smith fixed up my Ruger GP100. It is awesome. Outside of the classics shown here. That is my only alternative: Trigger work on my current revolvers.

The trigger job was fantastic. Outside of some (other) custom trigger jobs, Ive seldom experienced a better trigger.
(in spite of the finish) I still regret selling that beautifully balanced and sweet shooting Python.
