    Kentucky Knife Stores?

Hey guys, I'm in Kentucky for a week and want to get a knife before I leave. Right now I'm in Independence, Ky. Do any of you guys know a good knife store that I could possible pick up a Bali or other nice knife at? Thanks guys, Eric.

Yes I do Glenn. Yes I do.
But no, I ended up finding a flee market that had some vendors with knives. Very few balisongs but there where a lot more. I did talk to an old lady that had a booth that knew a LOT about balisongs. She even has a 42 (won't sell it I tried) but she was she even talking about benchmade and spyderco. Then I started flipping at another vendor who tried too sell me a CCC for $25 and then another for $35. She said the $35 one was "better quality" I almost laughes in her face. I only picked up one knife.

Well.. I've only been in the bluegrass since last September.

But I can safely say that store prices will horrify you.

The best knife shop in Kentucky is probably 1SKS.

Yeah.. that's right.. the owner of Bladeforums has the best knife shop in Kentucky... but it's online only.

Respect your elders. She's someone's Mom......think about it.

She could also be your "Go To" Gal for better quality knives. You never know.....

No no no no no. These were two different dealers at two different booths. One lady knew a lot, had good prices, and was really nice. the other had bad prices and knew nothing.

I actually live in Louisville, KY about a mile away from 1SKS. I frequently pick up many knives there and chat with Kevin.

Forget the knives and buy some good bourbon while you're there.

Red Hills Cutlery is in Radcliff (near Fort Knox).

    Looks like it's 2 1/2 - 3 hours from you.

I'm not too familiar with that part of the state. I'm much farther west. I can point you to a few nice places to buy knives on this end of the state, but they have mostly slip joints. Doubt they'd have any balis.
