    Les George VECP

I wanted this knife back in this thread:
    http://www.jerzeedevil.com/forums/sh...-Knives-Review

Jeez this thing is nice. I hear a lot of talk about this being a Seb killer. It's not going to beat 21 years of Sebenza loyalty any time soon at all, but man this is a SWEEEEEEEEET blade!

I actually dig the clip a lot more than I thought I would. Super easy to "clip scoop" out of the pocket.

Keep your taco bell sauce handy guys. I just needed something for size reference.

The story of how I got this knife is pretty awesome. I basically made a vague WTB thread hopelessly saying I wanted one, just like the 500 other people willing to fork over 600+ bucks. Some guy offers to sell it to me for not a penny more than he paid. Keep in mind that there are probably hundreds of people who would love to have this, I just got lucky that I got on someone's good side.

Congratulations! been trying to find one of these for a while now. Makes it feel that much more gratifying when you get a hard to find blade for the rite price!

I prefer it over the XM-18, I'm getting an XM-24 to compare to next week.

Too many people compare it to the Sebenza/Umnumzaan. I think those are still great knives even with this in hand. It's the XM-18 that I seriously consider not using anymore because of the blade profile and how similar I use it.

The stonewashed finish shrugs off cosmetic blemishes, the lockup becomes smooth, I can't think of anything else I'd want.

Also, I just ordered one of these for it

I got lucky too and got one from Les yesterday. Is your lock bar stiff and sticky. The lock bar now, not anything else:manager:
It is hard as crap for me to use my thumb to disengage the lock and it is sticking as a mofo. I mean, this thing has wrecked my thumb and I have pushed on this thing so hard that it has bruised my thumb. I'm a pretty strong guy with muscular arms and 8.5" wrist, so, it's not me just being a puss.
I've spoken with Les and he wants me to send it back in to him. He's a pretty good guy.

My first one had a lockbar that would slip and unlock. They're not 100% dialed in apparently. It's fine, once you get a working one, it's amazing. If it doesn't feel good now, it will never feel good. Les cross shipped me a new one before he even got it because I wanted a VECP so badly and it was so hard to get one, I actually put my name on his CUSTOM list just to try the real-deal version of the knife! Plus they're fetching like $600 on the used market, I might as well buy the full-up version for the same price.

I hate to say it, but it sort of craps on my Striders... I still love the way a Strider looks though, especially the overly tacticool tanto.

I'm sending it back to George Knives today. Hopfuly he can get it to disengage easily. I have my hands in water everyday all day and my thumbs are not calloused enough. My Sebenzas and XM's are perfect.

Like I said, it's an absolute gem of a knife and takes away from my XM's once you get one in hand. The Striders I still have affection for though

The VECP can only be as good as the XM if anything, it cannot be better and almost no other knife custom or non-custom can outdo it. I've spent like $900 on a Mick Strider custom in the past having unrealistic expectations (Striders are the most readily available tactical customs for me). The custom XM's are just handground XM's I believe, they still share the same tolerances as the mid techs which I adore.

I want to buy a Les George Rockeye so I have an excuse to send Les some serious money for some serious knife.

    Thanks for the photos.

What's the difference between the v2 and v1 versions, and how are the studs different?

Round vs milled out thumbstud. I never had a V1, those were even harder to get, V2 was the one that everybody came back from Blade with.
