    Microtech Warranty

Ok guys I have a terrible itch that only a Microtech Troodon can cure.

I have had my eye on getting one as well as a LUDT since I can remember.

The reason I always back out right before pulling the trigger is The warranty (or lack of) scares me to death.

I have heard many stories of the terrible customer service. I'm not sure what to believe. I know some people just hate knife companies and like to exaggerate their shortcomings.

Can someone in the know tell me why I should or shouldn't buy one of these knives with confidence?

I am on a big Auto kick lately and the urge to grab one is extra strong.

thanks in advance for any help guys.

Buy from a reputable dealer and you'll be fine...

well I just so happened to be ordering from BladeHQ.

I would assume they would qualify as reputable.

    Thanks for the quick reply

There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying? We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards!

BladeHQ is among the best out there. I have also had very good experiences dealing with Adams Knifeworks.

    Thumbs up

My vote goes for Hollowgrind and BladeHQ both! I've bought a few Microtechs recently from these dealers and all came flawlessly. Great communications and fast shipping.

yeah having dealer that cant act as a middle man for your warranty issues makes things go by a hell of a lot smoother. Plus you have to remember for every DA OTF from MT that fails there are hundreds if not thousands that work just fine. And people are more liable to speak up when they have a problem instead of when things are working as they should. Not only that but many of the "warranty" claims people out there cry about are from inexperienced owners who they themselves are the reason the knife is having issues. There are still legitimate claims and im not trying to belittle those who have had such experiences. And MT has had a reputation in the past for some very poor choices. But I think they have been doing a lot to try and distance themselves from that reputation and Ive heard customer service has really been stepped up.

when I had to send in my ultratech, I had BHQ send it to Microtech for me. I felt like a lot of weeks were turning to months so I contacted Microtech directly by phone. they were responsive and polite and fixed the knife for me. I wouldn't let the warrenty thing stop me from buying another Microtech. go for it broham!
How are you gonna talk to me? Your knife isn't even sharp.

I had the spring break on an Ultratech and had to send it in. Microtech called me on June 1st to verify my return address and just today I got an email stating they've shipped it back to me and it should arrive on Tuesday. They did say that because I live in Florida I don't have to play that authorized dealer shipping game, though.
