Your thoughts on the Kahr CM 9?

For the guys that own or have shot a Kahr CM 9 what are your thoughts pro and con? Would you recommend one?

We had a relatively new shooter run our Defensive Pistol (IDPA style) match with his on Saturday; he did well, and it ran flawlessly. I put a mazazine through it after the match and loved it - but before I race out and buy one, thought I'd ask those in the know (you guys)...

No experience with it but from what I had read and seen it looks like a winner. I have shot the CW9 and CW45 and like both of those. Figure the CM9 has to be as good.

Man, I'd love to say I like it, but there's the fact that it's a Kahr, and they have had some real issues in the past with QC. It shoots, it doesn't feel too bad, but I've shot some Kahrs with some extremely gritty triggers.

I'm kind of surprised that there's someone shooting a match with a sub-compact gun. I'd think that you would want a longer barrel and a heavier gun, but that's me.

a friend of mine has a CW9. Its an excellent shooter. They have surprisingly good triggers for a DA gun. I do really like the gun, but there are a couple minor things that bug me about it.

Its a PITA to disassemble. It involves pulling slide back to an exact position and forcing the slide stop out with a ridiculous amount of force. It hasn't loosened up at all in over 1000 rds and still requires being punched out.

Its picky with how you chamber the round. It seems as though if the slide doesn't ride home with the full force of the spring it wont chamber all the way. It happened to me and my friend enough to mention. Besides this the gun has been 100% reliable.

sirius, I know, madness isn't it! Still, we call it Defensive Pistol up heah in Montucky - i.e. bring whut you got, and run like the wind in your muck boots and heavy coat...

Shoot, shoot while moving to cover, shoot and reload from behind cover, shoot while moving to other cover, then shoot some more - all with the gun you carry, in the clothes you wear. The high speed/low drag guys avoid us like the plaque; or is that the plague...
