    Speed Reading

I have wanted to learn to speed read for a while now but haven't done much about it besides watching a few YouTube videos and skimming a book on the subject. I read super slow and suffer from mind wandering and re-reading pages I just read. From what I know about speed reading is it will help with this allot as well as just allow me to read and comprehend more material in a short amount of time.

So do any of you devils know how to speed read? How did you learn? Can you recommend a program or book? How about just any tips or tricks?

    Thanks!

I never took the course but I've heard it's pretty good. She's been around for quite a long time! http://www.ewrd.com/ewrd/index.asp

Damn that’s expensive! I might try the book from the library first.

It's strange that I would spend that much on a knife but be worried to spend it on something that could potentially make me more successful in the future.

I took the course years ago because of all the additional reading I had to do as preparation for my work. Retention is the key and you gauge how much you need to retain, how much you want to slow down and enjoy the content and how fast you need to scan to retain a minimum desired amount of the content.

I can still speed through stuff quickly with pretty good retention but in the end its up to you how much you want to reflect upon the content. If you have volumes of info to read through as I do, I recommend taking a course if you can find one that gives you the basics at a reasonable price.

I found one thats $40 that seems to cover all the basics with not a lot of filler and stuff I don't need that I'm going to try. I'll post back on how good it is once I go through it.

Took the E. Wood course 30 years ago before law school. It worked then. I don't use the techniques these days, but I still can.

Is that what you've been doing for the last seven years on this forum, skipping over the rules that were unimpressive to you?

Go and introduce thyself in Testing the Waters section please.
