    On the bench....New batch...

Thought I'd do a build thread for the batch I started this weekend. Not so much a how to as I pretty much still do things like I did in my step by step. Just a pictorial that follows each step of this most recent batch.

So....most of these are for a local law enforcement group (about 12 of them) then there are a few odd orders in there so....away we go.

Big ol' pile of steel from our friendly neighborhood steel baron. Mostly S35VN....Parker, that big ass piece of 3V is where your project will come from (next batch)

    Scribing around the kydex template...

    All marked for cutting...

After way too much time at the bandsaw (I really need to get the waterjet thing going!)

After rough profiling on the wheel, squaring up on the platen, and contouring with the small wheel...stack is the 13 blanks that are alike with the three oddballs out front...

and last but not least....all the thumb serrations cut in....

That was it for this weekend. Got to get up early for the day job so I'm off to get cleaned up and have a big ol' glass of sweet tea....or Shiner...haven't decided yet but something cold for sure.

Thanks for looking and stay tuned!

    Have a great week JD

Dude! You were a busy man! Looking forward to seeing how this progresses. I like the smallest "oddball" is it an FOS with a tanto shape?

This whole "day job" thing is really interfering with our need to see more progress shots from your shop!

I'm always amazed at the speed with which you tear through your batches. You're a machine! Looking forward to seeing this batch progress.

Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says "Give me your best shot pal. I can take it."
