My Second Fixed Blade Knife Sheath

Just posting a couple pictures of my second fixed blade knife sheath. It was intended to be a learning piece to practice basic sheath making and tooling. It turned out okay and I did learn quite a bit while making it... there are definitely a few things I'd do differently now but overally I'm pretty satisfied with it. It's made with 7/8 oz leather with a 7/8 oz welt, dyed with Fiebings oil dye and hand stitched with 7-cord linen thread.

Thanks for all the good feedback!

While this is only my second fixed blade sheath, it's probably my 7th project overall with the other five projects being small pocket sheats or cases for flashlights and folders. The first three of those turned out pretty poor and then I found a good online leather forum that's helped alot. Through the forums I learned about better tools and techniques and other good resources like books and DVDs.

My last pocket case (shown below) and the two fixed blade sheaths I've done all turned out pretty good. Now with each project I'm learning new "tricks" that refine my quality of work more and more and that's pretty fun and the end results are pretty satisfying.
