Thread: Show Your Oldest Knife

  1. #31
OK Here are a few old pocket knives that I collected a long time ago.

Also an M1 bayonet, and a Japanese blade both pretty old.

Here are three of mine. I'm not the original owner of any of them. At one time or another I have put the bottom two up for sale, but was always glad when they didn't sell.

Top one is an old Opinel, bought it from a guy in the UK who said he has had it almost 50 years.
Middle one has the nicest green jig bone I've seen.
Bottom one has jigging on it, but the scale is made of tin.

    Per your request...

Three knives that belonged to my grandfather: a Schrade 882Y, a Winchester Cattle Knife and a Kabar 1092. My grandfather was a firefighter with the City of Dallas and retired as a Captain. These knives were a part of his "collection" of everyday users. The Kabar occasionally finds it's way into my pocket as part of my EDC rotation. Using the same knife my grandfather did makes me feel closer to him and brings a smile to face.

    Gotta love an old Cattaraugus.

Here is 225Q from WWII. Far sexier than a KaBar IMO

I have a few sabres from the Napoleonic Wars, but this is my oldest knife

How about an old Italian...Latama flatguard, late 40' to early 50's.

My oldest knife I guess is my old SAK executive. My oldest locking folder is probably my Covert. I've been kind of thinning out my collection, so it's probably a lot newer than most people would expect.

This one has been dated to about 1680 or so.

The oldest that I bought new, 1977 Buck Ranger (has skinned and caped elk, deer and bear)

Larger Case belonged to my Grandfather, smaller Case belonged to my uncle. Not sure of dates.

Old Remington that my Great Grandfather, Grandfather and Father used before it passed down to my hands.

My oldest knife I own that I bought new is a Benchmade/Crawford Leopard. Which, if I am NOT mistaken, was the first custom/prodo collab? Unless it was the Emerson/Benchmade one? Anyway... I got it around 1990 I think. Still a cool knife!
