TBG conveyed to me that he would like to head up here to live. Here are pics of last weekend to give him a little incentive.
My wife's 2 cousins came up from OK to camp out in the mountains and go to a music festival in Challis, ID ( about 2 hr drive with dudes, 2 1/2 hrs with my family, and 4 hrs with 4 chicks) We stopped everywhere for pics. It was fun, we stopped at places I had not seen since we first moved here 10 years ago.
On the way up to camp one of the girls radioed us and asked if we brought any towels. My wife and I looked at each other and she asked why. They wanted them for after their showers at camp. We told them we had plenty of baby wipes. We had a pretty good laugh. Then they told us they had brought curling irons and hair driers. Not the type of camping they were used to. They were very good sports though.
As I was picking a flat spot for the tent I noticed a pile of bear scat and decided it would be better to nonchalantly toss it in the woods with the shovel, not wanting to make our guests uneasy. As I picked it up my 4 year old son screams out "cool dad, bear poop!!" They were pretty casual about it, especially when they saw all of the precautions we took with food.
The younger sister (who starts a new univ. this fall for music) on the right sang a cappella (she forgot her guitar) at the campfire for about and hour and a half. It was unblievable, not a bad note one. Patsy Cline, Sara Evans, alot of songs I did not recognize, and a very touching song about our country and soldiers that we all got up and clapped and cheered after.
Gracie is doing her imitation of a ghost on the right side.
They thought they heard some growls in the night after this. I got up and went out in the night to investigate. The sight of me in my undies seemed to fix the problem.
The concert was awesome. It was the Muzzy Braun festival. The bands we went to see were Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly and Mickey and the Motorcars. There were quite a few others. We enjoyed all of them.
We had a great place for the kids to run around and for us to watch the drunk people and the concert. We headed down to the front a few times for some of our favorites. They sold beer inside, but you could bring in a cooler for $10.00 with whatever you wanted in it.. There were some elabrate set ups. One was a huge cooler in a large frame with wheels, taps in the side and a large selection of the hard stuff up top, complete with an umbrella. There were some very drunk people there, I was pretty close. It was great to see everybody have a good time, no problems.

We took the scenic route home. These are the Sawtooths over Redfish Lake. Got home late and got ready to go floating the next day.
We floated the South Fork of the Snake River and had nice day. The sun did not come out until just before dark.
Where the aptly named Falls River flows in.

One for Deadeye. I think my wife took it. I was pleasantly suprised when I downloaded the pics.
Another very fun weekend. I have had more than my fair share lately, but I'll take em. You never now when you won't.
