Bali Sheaths - What would you want?

    Good evening folks.
I have never owned, or even held a bali, but recently I was asked to create something special for a rather well known customer. I've done quite a bit of research on what's been done, but, before embarking on this project I thought I'd hear from the folks who actually use these knives. I want to know what your "holy grail" of bali sheaths would look like. I only do leather casing so no plastics.
    - Horizontal/vertical carry?
    - Lined?
    - Inlays?
    - Cover flap w/ snap?
    - ANYTHING!!

    Thanks for your input.

this is coming from someone who hates damascus and tortoise inlays, mother of pearl, etc, but anything to fancy just offends my senses

for a retro bali like a bm45 I would want a diagonal IWB leather sheath, black, with some sort of butterfly or something cool stamped on it

Now a new looking balisong like an AlphaBeast or something, I think a tight fitting kydex sheath with a nylon shoulder harness included would be Amazing

Horizontal carry. No cover. Clean. Neat. Simple. A signature design that's all your own.

    what he said.

ive been told leather can sometimes react with some types of metal/finishes. some kinda liner may be a plus.
How are you gonna talk to me? Your knife isn't even sharp.

When I used to carry in Florida, I preferred the vertical open design. It's easy to just open it from that position. Matt Cook makes awesome sheaths. I preferred carrying latchless but any latch would do, also.

I have a Linos kydex and it's a great sheath since it accommodates for any 4x, new or old school T-latch designs.

Lastly, I have a leather sheath by Alex Salsi for a Giraffe Bone Damascus that he made. That vertical open carry sheath is pretty damn awesome, too.

Velcro, snaps and slot covers are too slow.

Horizontal carry, no flap, metal/ kydex belt clip for easy deployment.

Basically, a Graley G2 sheath with belt clip, not loops.
Looking for Jens Anso Chinese Balis.

    SELLING: "Special" balis.

I would like a vertical carry, made of kydex, possibly molded or some securing method to hold it in unless pulled. Belt clip a must

I love comp-tac stuff for my other EDC and basically just want the same for a bali. I have tried several different holsters and nothing compares IMO

    Something like this: http://www.comp-tac.com/product_info.php?products_id=28

I have one of Linos necklace sheaths. It's pretty awesome. If it's on my waist line though I want it horizontal or canted slightly. So when it comes to making a "grail" anything it's for that person alone. We all have different styles and preferences.

Horizontal carry, with cover snap. Tight fitting. Inlayed with rayskin. Preferably with very thick and fine leather stitching.

Kind of like this one, for reference only: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/sh...ali-Song-Mint!

(Geez, look at the price on that 43-401...)
