Dang, I like that bottom-most one there, Mike. Not a big fan of the forward-mounted optics, but that's a neat-looking rifle.

The bottom one looks like my long sold off Gunsite Scout . I found the Steyr less than rugged in the action and especially in the bipod. But they certainly have desireable features and are lighter than a real precision rifle.

Top 308 SSG 04A1, Not many others will beat it for precision.

Middle .376, One of the best predatory game rifles I've ever owned.

Bottom 308 Scout, will out shoot 99% of the shooters out there.

Trained with them when I was a Instructor at Gunsite.
Rugged enough for everything I've asked from it, and that's a lot.

    Amen to that Mike.
The Scout is a fantastic rifle IMO. Handy, incredibly fast and shooting with both eyes open is a real advantage. Super quality and built to last.
Turns out Uncle Jeff got it right after all.
    Quite like the Dragoon too.

    Cool 308 are great

You have a lot of choices, Remington 700-AAC and Ruger Scout are very good for bolt guns, M1A1 will shoot as accurately as the shooter can and will work when most guns will not, the AR platform guns a very good and will shoot as well as the shooter can. For the money the Remington and Ruger bolt guns with optics will be about the same price as the other platform guns without optics. I shot a Remington 700-AAC in .308 with a suppressor on it and fell in love with it; I am now trying to figure how to get it away from my buddy. He said that he had about $2,450.00 in the gun, scope, case, and can. Even with me shooting it shot less than 1” group for 5 shots at 100 yds. with Federal 168 gr Gold Medal Match. I would go to ranges and see if they have any of the guns for rent or try to find someone who will let you shoot their gun. Then pick the one that YOU like not what the rest of us like.
For the life of me I just cannot recommend anything from Russia or China both of which would still attack us if they had a chance. AKs are good guns but not great guns.
