    Thanks fellas.

This one was sanded to 220, then blasted at 180, etched in FC, tumbled for an hour in ceramic media, then blued in Caswells cold blue, rubbed with steel wool and sealed. Not sure what the final finish winds up being. It's very smooth after it's ride in the tumbler.

Very nice work MO, as always. My next blade's going to be one of your FOS's when I get the mullah' together - mark my words.

To each their own, no doubt. I do have to say though. I have owned a FOS for....................................well....... .....................not sure how long. Several years at least. Regardless of what you may conclude from the looks of the knife, it is a great design. I have used mine for a multitude of tasks. I have it with me every day.

Don't knock it 'till you try it.

That Barong does jade your view of smaller knives

    Frstr8, thanks buddy! Nice endorsement.

There are quite a few out there and I do not see them pop up on the secondary market much. They are also usually the first knives to move off my table at shows. You really have to feel it to appreciate it The premise is to get the most blade into the shortest OAL possible, and still have a secure, comfortable grip. So far the handle has worked well on blades up to 6". It may work on longer blades as well I just haven't tried it. I need to make a 10" monster FOS just to test it.

Of course a full length handle is always the best option if length is not a concern.

Made from "leftovers"... well I'm wondering how much steel you're usually left with after a knife build

    Very cool though

A 10 inch FOS would be wicked. Kinda of a sword for a little person.
