Yea that was sweet, brutal fight scene.

While it hasn't been 100% strict to the books, HBO's doing a great job. Only complaint is the lack of epic fight scenes ala LOTR, but that's an unrealistic expectation.

Yeah, the budget has to quite ridiculous for a TV show...and that's just the costumes. God knows what the sets and location shooting costs. HBO really put their balls on the chopping block gambling a lot of money on a largely dialogue-driven show that might keep an audiences attention (which is probably the reason for all the gratuitous sex and nudity).

I haven't read the books yet, and probably won't until the series is finished (if it ever is). I figure it's better to be impressed with the series and more impressed with the books than be impressed with the books but disappointed by the show.

Less man on man action please. I got more than my share of that already from Oz.

great episode, but i agree that it ended too soon. it would be great if they made it a two hour season finale and season premieres from now on.

This whole season was too short. They need to do 13 episode seasons and cut it out with this bare bones 10 episode shit.

Agreed! There were several instances of cool things they didn't have time to explain, which would have been much more interesting if they had taken the time to properly explain them...

Example, last night Ser Loras Tyrell came riding up wearing Renly's armor. The fact that he was wearing Renly's armor was sort of glanced over on the show, you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't looking for it... but in the book it was important (though in the book it was actually one of Loras' brothers wearing the armor) because Stannis would have won the battle were it not for half of his soldiers switching sides when they thought Renly had returned... and many others fleeing the battle entirely when they thought Renly's ghost wanted revenge.

Still, I love what they have done with the show, and I can't wait for more.

Also... what I wouldn't give for a spin-off show featuring Tyrion and Bronn. Sorta like the Dunk and Egg short stories, but with more whores and decapitations!
