    Very nice.
    I like the stacked leather/stag.
    Very unique.
I also have a few Blackjacks. But, no 1-5's. Mostly 1-7's and Trail Guides..

I like the size, very light in the hand, it's also made with 1095 which I thought was cool. I am partial to 1095 for no reason other than I just like it, nothing at all wrong with A2 that's a great steel, but you just don't see 1095 used as often with Blackjacks. Which makes sense of course A2 is a better steel.

    Is that an older knife?

I thought all of those were made in A2 these days.

    Jerry,

You will need to introduce yourself to Rick Monsour (Sticky Rick) here and on Knife Forums. He has a collection of protos and one offs that were given to him from Mike Stewart when Mike and he shared a Building in California.

And yes, he is selling them!

Mike, Glad to hear Sticky Rick was given those knives and he didn't have Sticky Fingers.

I look forward to seeing his collection.

    I have a few blackjacks ...

My Effingham 1-7 and recent production model 5

    My Trail Guides
    Effingham Stag Carver
    Effingham Leather
    Leather Mini Trail Guide
    Knifeware Black Cordura

I had custom sheaths made (Savage) for the leather handle trail guides.

    My 125's

The green cordura has a vinegar etch coloring on the blade, the leather handle is etched with deer blood.

Attack I, Effingham HALO, 16 Jet Pilot

The 125 and Trail Guide are my favorites. I was surprised to find out that the Knifeware Trail Guide is a larger knife than the Effingham version.

Thanks ... This is my latest aquisition, a Knifeware Trailguide with a stag carver handle. The handle on this one is perfect, perfect size and shape with just the right amount of bark. This one could easily become my favorite knife.

I would imagine that everyone can see the allure of these blades.

Non-Knife people can appreciate them, is what I mean.
Embarrassing to frequent a knife forum and never handled a Black Jack to my knowledge.

    Now I know.

There's something about leather stacked handles that gets me drooling, they just seem to catch my eye. Nice knives fellas.
