I've been carrying fixed blades for a few decades now and I find myself asking Why you would build a sheath with a profile like this one??

I ask the question because frankly there is a lot of snag-point and rub-point all over that sheath with the body design being that way.

A sheathed knife is about as simple and idiot-proof tool as I have run across, barring a claw hammer or rock, and generally they are a more or less sleek profile and relatively snag-free.

Your sheath body has all sorts of protrusions on as near as I can tell three out of four sides and you've held it together with a bunch of allen screws, which are going to get loose at some point or other.

Can you explain the logic of either of these items?

I'm not trying to be a dick, so if it comes across that way, I will disclaim that I have had a VERY long day and week and it has been chock-full of surprises both good and bad, but the giggly fatigue has kicked over a pile of questions for me regarding this build ethos.

Any chance you plan on answering either question I've asked about your sheaths?

I figure bringing this back after a month or so should have given you a proper chance to work out your answers.

Are you asking the question as the knife being for conceal purposes or just wearing the knife in general. Because a big knife for concealed defense purpose is a stupid concept thats why they made the second amendment. Plus i think the fold over and the two pieces kydex sheaths get old. I own Tie Tac Sheaths i use them i never encountered a snag or any type of screws coming loose. In general its a new concept wiith the look and the tie lock in my opinion.

Proper grammar and sentence structure will get you a long way here.

You demonstrate a good deal of ignorance about big knives, concealing them or their use as defensive weapons in your post, and perhaps you should spend some time around people who use them as such before typing about that topic again.

When someone re-invents the wheel, I suppose it may appeal to folks who want something different for the sake of difference, but for those of us who actually carry and use our tools in a variety of environments, it's very amusing for us to see someone cluttering up the works with features added for purely cosmetic purposes. The saw-pattern on the edge-side of the knife will very easily produce a snag getting in/ out of a vehicle, in/ out of a tree stand, when climbing down/ crawling backwards or in any scenario where it goes backwards against the obstacles in a natural or man-made environment.

Perhaps the maker of these sheaths who has proclaimed the wonders of the design would care to join us, we can learn his perspective on these subjects.

Sorry I can't devote my life to being a guru of the knife world and sorry for the grammar but long nights tend to mess with the mind and the way you think. I'm not down playing the knife as a defensive weapon "shit i carry one" and I know many people that can use them well, ISMAC its a tournament look it up guru. They will even tell you use gun to protect yourself. Knives are only good in close quarter's situations. If you create distance your dead. Did you ever you use a Tie sheath? So how would you know how it functions or if it snags. I used them in the real world and never had any problems. In and out of cars no snags, no loose screws, with no problems whatsoever. It almost seems like your jealous of how the knives with the Tie Tac sheaths look, maybe because those parker knives look like something a 1970's G.I. Joe guy would carry. I shouldn't down play parker knives there good knives. Let me know how my grammar was i hadn't had a comment like that since Comp 101.

We're gonna quote this for the moment since you seem to have confused "tournament" with reality.

I do wonder, you're not confusing me with the gent who owned Parker Knives, are you??

And I can definitively assure you I am not jealous of how the knife looks in the sheath. Perhaps a Bagwell or Fisk Bowie in a Paul Long sheath, or a Randall 1-8 in a Heiser, circa 1945, but not this. I don't play Final Fantasy, thank you.

More later, on a point-by-point basis.

At some point is Mr Robinson likely to step in and address the questions I've asked?

I've been curious about this for awhile...

    So I asked this....

    K Robinson,

If I may, what is your reasoning behind a Level II retention?

Is this sheath designed for Law Enforcement, to be worn on a TAC rig?

I ask since that is my primary professional and subject matter.

Was the LII for tieing up purposes? Not allowing a Suspect access?

Is there a need for this in the Civilian Marketplace? Where?

The workmanship appears to be top rate, I'm just curious to the execution.

    Linos:
    Thanks Much for posting.
I have to make it clear that Mr Parker's post was in no way my motivation, that prototype has been in the works for a few months and I had been developing the idea for much longer that that, however my backlog of orders from all of the Military, LEO/SWAT, EMT,and FD customers who do not benefit from the foresight of Mr Parker has been keeping me busy.

    Mr Grasso:
Piece of mind was my motivation for the Level II retention.
The sheath can be carried unlocked if the user so chooses.
Of the hundreds of sheaths I have crafted only about 2 % of the customers have ever requested that I leave the Level II lock off of the sheath, My customers are a healthy mix of both civilian and governmental agencies so 98 % of my customers believe that there is a need for that piece of mind, I hope that I have answered your question.

    Mr Parker:
I have never intentionally left a question un answered until yours.
There was something in your first post that led me to believe that there would have been no right answer and your follow up posts convinced me that it was the correct path to take.
I feel no obligation or need to answer it now as it would end up deteriorating into something that the members here should not have to waist their time backing out of if they should click on the post to begin with.
Regardless of the nasty reply from you that my response is sure to provoke this will be my only reply to you, I do not have the time to waist on an internet bully who steps up the negativity with each successive post to invoke a knee jerk reaction.
Bottom Line ! If you do not like my work, which is obvious, don't open any thread that I post !

    Busse Rat:
    Thanks Much !!

    All Jerzee Devil's:
My apologizes for any of you having to read this mess.
