man all this dooomsday shit scares the hell outta me! theres only so many knives i can grab! i mean zombies in canada pshhhhhh theyll fuckin freeze to death! but natural disasters are all up in everyones grill! i personally dont believe in having more then i can carry ready for any big event just cause i dont want to stock my house with tons and tons a shit just to have to evacuate and leave it all behind. I have my own good bag pack with lots and lots a shit, i bought a huge molle bag with lots a molle gear to attach to it and a nice miliary sleeping bag with bivy sac that goes up to like -40c just like alot of other people i do believe something is gonna happen to this world but i figure more like an extensive change in land mass like the one that happened many years ago when all the contenents were still one giant peice of land(so history says) i much rather take the zombies i have serveral zombie cutting knives ready but prolly wont happen! i really am curious though how many people on this forum do have GOOD bags or bug out bags ready along with other shit, guns, knives, camping shit, etc! i dont wanna sound paranoid but do beleive in being somewhat prepared! anyone else agree?

Somehow I get the feeling that all those clowns in that show are going to be the first to die in a real apocalyptic event.

She also said she had 180 condoms good for about 4 days, guess she likes to FUCK. The guys I thought were most prepared were the guys in South Carolina, lots of guns, water, livestock, food, and secure perimeter and they trained everyone in the families.
12 miles in 3 hours with 60lb pack unrealistic? Maybe you need to work out. I ruck an average of 30 miles per week carrying 60lb ruck, 18lb mortar tube, 30lb plate carrier with plates and M4. I didnt see the show, maybe she is super scrawny, I dunno, but all it is is just walking, too easy mang.

The fat guy was comical as was the girl. I'd say all these people are on the entertaining side of the Prepper movement. By that I mean they'll get ratings for the show rather than promote realistic Prepper attitude.

Taking a few measured precautions and having the ability to sustain oneself for a few days or a week or two doesn't seem to me to be a bad attitude to have. It doesn't take much to scare the masses into a frenzy about weather, oil, food shortages etc. Being able to ride out those brief times is something I'd expect most normal people to do.

My grandfather always had a week or two of food in his house and a tool shed that allowed him to repair almost everything in his house. It was a Prepper approach just a self reliance once. Maybe it's a generational thing.

No doubt some of the folks outlined have their shit together.

Being able to weather a Katrina type incident for a week or two should be something everyone sorts out. Self reliance I think is the best way to put it. People are so used to everything being good these days that "prepping" is taken to extremes. A couple weeks of food and the tools/knowledge you need to take care of yourself should just come natural. Most people think camping gear is only needed when it's time to wait in line for the newest i-gadget.

Jesus, haven't you been paying attention? Camping gear is also essential when the next Star Wars movie comes out or a concert is coming to town.....or we're occupying....(ducks, runs for cover, hides and sniggers)
