Thread: Preferred 1911.

  1. #1

    Preferred 1911.

This one started life as a pre-80 series combat commander. It has been fully built by David Erickson, in fact, it was his last full build.

The finish is hard chrome top and bottom, with ion-bond added to the slide and sights...the ultimate; all steel and corrosion resistance.

It resides in an Alessi IWB holster, black with shark skin trim most of the time. It is a quick and confident movement away from action at a moment's notice. I trust it completely.

Sights are custom fixed. The extra number is mine, Cullum.

It likes to put all its projectiles in one hole...

This is my 1911 and it has functioned 100% through the first 3000 rounds.

Questions? I will answer. Regards - redleg

How does shooting with Carbon Fiber feel?

    I like that Mag release.

    How much does this run?

The CF grips are wonderful; the entire package feels like one piece. Solid throughout. Even internals are new, best parts and fitted.

This one runs 100% every time the trigger is pulled. If this inquiry is about cost, then I'm sorry, I will politely leave that unanswered.

    Thanks - redleg

That is a beautiful thing. I got the Sig recently, no customization yet.

    Very nice looking pistol....

Very nice looking pistol, but I have two questions. Why or what is the theory or reasoning behind making the magazine release a smooth button and having the serrations on the bottom side of the slide release?

I am not necessarily criticizing them, but more curious?
    Regards, Devils. Vince.

The smooth mag release just fits in form better with the de-horned package. It also does not snag any clothing, which is a benefit. The recoil spring plug is also void of all checkering. The serrations on the bottom of the slide release serve no function; they are a signature item of the gunsmith.

He gave that quite the carry bevel treatment. Not quite Clark Meltdown territory, but clearly effective. I also like the truncated beavertail on the grip safety. Not too big, not too small.

    Wow.

THIS is a seriously nice pistol. Done impeccably.

I'll second the observation about the beavertail.

    You done GOOD, man!

And I am notably a sucker for hardchrome!
