This question has developed from a previous post about a good small folding or fixed blade edc knife. I suggested the not yet released Spyderco Techno. From what I am reading, it seems to be an all around great small edc knife. The only problem I have is that it is manufactured in Taiwan. The majority of knives I have and like have all been made in the US and Seki City Japan. The only knife I have manuactured in Taiwan is my Rat 1 folder which I love, but it is a cheaper knife, but of great build quality (not a big fan of AUS-8 though). I always had the impression that Taiwanese made knives weren't of the best quality, or they don't have much pride in their work. The Techno is an expensive knife and am not sure weather to be confident with Taiwan etched on the side of the blade, or any future pricier knives. Nothing to loose with the 30 dollar knives but am just curious about the $100 plus knives. I feel kinda weird carrying a close to $200 knife, that when asked where such a valuable knife was made I have to say Taiwan. Just wondering if I am being Stubborn, naive or missing out on some great knives?
