Well, if you're looking for serious 'potential relationship' commentary for online dating, it would be - be selective, keep your guard up, only talk with women with photos and a profile that appeal to you, don't wear your heart on your sleeve, and don't take any of it too seriously...

Match.com, possibly because to have to pay to join, for me at least, had 'nicer' women - two short term relationships (10 and 2 months), three friends I still talk with as friends, and a couple of chicks I just dated once or a few times, was what came out of my 1.5 years there.

All in all, it was a pretty nice experience. Also, if you decide to quit after the initial trial period, they'll offer to reduce the membership cost by ~50%, just to keep you around.

POF led to more dates and more sex by far, but I just didn't click with any of the women - most seemed interested in either a fuck buddy, someone to take care of them, someone to help raise (pay for) their kids, or some combination of the above.

Also, most of the POF women were either married, separated but still living together, already in a relationship, or had multiple guys coming around. The sanctity of marriage notwithstanding (literally), I wasn’t interested in contracting an STD or lead poisoning for my effort...

Good luck, use your brain, and watch out for scammers and drama queens…

p.s. There are some dirty little girls out there, and the sex with a few was the best I ever had…still think about ‘em from time to time in fact, but their heads were fucked up and thus nothing good would ever come from it.

Don't worry xian13... back when I was working I met one of my co-worker's sister. First thing I said was... 'My God, you two look so much alike, you could be sisters!' This led to the sister telling me... 'I require 3 things of a man before I will date him. He must like children, he must be rich and he must have a vasectomy.' I replied... 'How about 2 out of 3... will that do?' Then I told her I had one stipulation of the women I date... 'They must like dogs.' We never did date!

No new matches today but I did 'chat' with a 35 year old woman from Arizona who either wanted my body or wanted to borrow $200. She has no profile or pictures but sent me an IM (Immediate Message?) asking me how I was doing? We conversed for a bit using IM and she wanted me to e-mail her outside of Match.com so she could send me a picture (Match.com doesn't allow nude pictures). Could have been interesting but all I kept thinking of was she could be a him for all I knew! Tomorrow is another day!

Cool, Shel! I'm up early today to re-enter some of my rhymes that were 'lost' when my hard drive went 'belly up' back in May and then print them out for a booklet I'm putting together. Just checked my e-mails and looks like I have a bunch of ladies to check out. The whole online thing is good for some. I did it a few times, but talking online went to meeting and then it was kinda awkward. I'm better starting out face to face, that way theres no awkward first meeting after you already made all the small talk online.
