Okay folks, this sucks big time but all work has halted temporarily until next week. I have stopped working since last week when we confirmed the presence of Asbestos and Mold. So, I am waiting for the mold remediation and asbestos removal which will be another week off.

What sucks more is I've been working in that environment for 3 years consistently and breathing this crap in. So, probably in another 20 years I'll kick the bucket while I hack up a lung. Between G10, Metal, wood, mold and asbestos, it's safe to say I will develop some sorta of respiratory illness.

Never fear, your orders... although late, will be completed and you will love your knives.

Just imagine how much more they'll be worth when I'd dead!!!!

At least you DID catch it before you went on another who knows how long breathing it in. Glad it's getting taken care of, you'll be back up and grinding soon enough. If you weren't here there would be no more Derespina Knives orders...so stay safe and wear your respirator...because we want our knives.! Seriously though take care man, that shit's nasty.

Thanks guys, well I mean I hope I don't catch the big C down the road. However, it's probable so I just need to take precautions now so that the impact isn't so large when/if it does happen.

I friggin' hate using respirators and goggles... but I do.

With that, I've had an aching in my throat since 9/11 walking through that waft of smoke and toxic ash. Shortly after that is when I noticed throat aching. No one had an answer just probably irritated glands, coming of a cold, etc....

We'll see but for now I'm 100% A OK. Sucks that I am so backed up with work and can't finish anything until later next week.

Just had my attic done. Probably would have ordered 3 knives instead of one if the cash was not remediated with the mold.

Awesome C! Glad you like it! Well the crew came in yesterday and knocked down much of the walls, tore up the old tile, etc... Completely unlike what I was told it would be. Unlike the EPA approved video I saw as well. Barely any taping and cover off of important areas. Just the passage to the up stairs. These guys had no respirators, no EPA approved gear at all. No Hepa machine like what was supposed to be. Just a large blower to suck out air from the basement, meanwhile it blew out into my and the neighbors yards.

No negative air space as was supposed to be, a little worried at cross contamination potential but so far seems ok. After much reassurance, I hesitantly went along with the demolition and remediation. Still, nothing like what I was told by the estimator and by the EPA info I read and watched. The foreman called it negative air but I had to explain to him what that actually means, he just kept reassuring me it was fine and safe. Then after all was done, he had a massive headache, no mask on, completely covered in dust, coughing.... etc... weird huh?

Now with the chemicals on the shop walls and floors, the newly paved sides, corners, no proper walls, all electrical outlets dangling in the air, etc.... it's now still a hazard and we need to put in some walling at least where the electric is located so there's some security and no dangling wires and outlets.

As well as some ceiling areas on the sides and corners of the rooms because they're exposed which shows the flooring from the top floor.... ugh, this is fucked!

Rich, you are sick. I've seen your work...LOL I remember a story about a guy who was afraid of flying, he spent his life dreaming of the plane crash that would kill him. He never did fly, but died when a plane crashed into his house.... All you can do is your best. something is gonna get you. be safe.

My office flooded here in Hburg and guess who got to go through the old files to check for important documents? I saw colors of mold I never dreamed of. Mold guys powerwashed and sprayed the basement while I cleaned the first story. Guess who had an upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, and ear infection 3 days later? Doc said it may not be related, but I NEVER get sick. Ever. I didn't wear a mask and wish I did. I hope you do on a regular basis. All those years of clean living will come back to haunt you Rich!
