My 1st {of many} Bark River

Hello all,

Yesterday , in my mailbox was my VERY FIRST BR Knife. Up till then , I had NEVER seen or held anykind of a BR before.


I traded for a very lightly used Escort --and I DID NOT even know how long or what kind of a BR it was --- I JUST WANTED my first BK and when I seen a chance for a trade -- I grabbed it and THEN looked up what Dahell I just got !!


As I opened and unpacked the knife , the first thing I thought was " Wow , its small " and the second thing I thought was " Man , NICE sheath ". I looked over the brown micarta {i think} handle and the sheath and then unsnapped and took out the knife.


At this point I'll add that I own well over 300-400 knifes and have owned Thousands in my 50+ years on this Earth --- some customs made by the best makers ever and Hi-dollar.


After looking over this Escort closely -- my mind was like " My GOD , this little thing is VERY WELL MADE !!!



The fit and finish was just outstanding -- the blade grinds even -- no overlaps to the grips - no burrs , blimishes , or flaws what-so-ever ------ and it was SHARP !!!


As stated -- I was surprised how small and slim the Escort is -- and a little concerned as well. I have small "girly-man" size hands so I started to "play a bit" with this knife.


First I tried it in a "Saber" grip --- it fit me well



Next I tried it in a "Pika'l / Ice Pick" grip -- it fit me well AND I could "thumb-cap" the grip -- a BIG PLUS IMHO;



Next I tried the "Edge Out Reverse Grip" and yet again --- It fit me well AND I again could "thumb-cap" the handle ;



I could just go on and on and on about the things I liked about my first Barkie --- lets just say that if the 9" Bowie and the Bowie Fighter that I am waitting to get here , are as nice --- I'LL BE IN LOVE like a teenager at the drive-in movies


And my THANKS goes out to ALL YOU who have put up with my "newbie" questions and my lack of knowledge about this new addiction of mine !


And a special thats to Mike S. for PERSONALLY taking the time to help and befriend this "new guy". I'll own a Barkie till the day I die !!!!!!!!!!

Nice score BigBird, i got my first barkie from the GAW and it is by far a keeper. I love it and have put it to use everyday. One hell of a knife and not my last one either. Keep it up and your gonna have to sell some Balis to fund your flashlight and barkie addiction

Suby --- that is A NICE Barkie !!! BUT -- I think Ron fucked up and put YOUR address on it instead OF MINE

Flashlights ?? --- NO , I really only got the one Light Saber that Glenn built for me and its a keeper.

Balis ??? ---- I think I may have enough to sell a few and "hardly" notice.

Spydercos --- at almost 100 --- some are going bye buy

I just bought the BR Proto 2007 Bowie from Iceman --- a BIG HONKIN 9" blade --- ya notice there is NEVER a Zombie around when ya want one ????

Again -- Im just blown away by the QUALITY of both BR's that I now have

And Suby --- I'll keep checking MY mailbox just in case a certain ORANGE handle BR shows up -- finally

Great knives from a great company, you can't go wrong buying this brand. Well you can, you'll empty your bank account if you try to collect them all, remember they're not Pokemon. They're far better.
