    R. Scheppmann Knives Halloween Build-off thread

I drew something up today that kind of peaked my interest... After some tweaking some forehead slaps, I'm pretty set on this design. As you can see in the pic, I'm still figuring some stuff out:

    5/16" or 3/8" thick?
A-2, D-2, or Hi Carbon with a hamon?
    Red/black, orange/black G-10, or G-10/carbon fiber laminate?

Got some planning and buying to get on... I hope to put this to steel soon. We'll see how it ends up.

Dude, if your going to profane Star Wars you just scribbled yourself on top of my "I hope you die in a hotel, strangled by a tranny's panty hose" list.

Just ordered a chunk of D-2 for this... It's going to be 5/16" thick; the 3/8" thick chunk of D-2 would have weighed 8 pounds in the dimensions I need! Steel should be here in a couple of days, and then I'll get this beast profiled.

    Question Cleaving Zombies on Halloween

Cleaving zombies on Halloween (or even those little bastards egging the house) seems like the way to go, but wouldn't a longer handle let you get a little more ass into it? Something at least 2 handed

Perhaps even more of a Louisville Slugger "splitter" style?

Seems way more effective and scary!

Never used a two-handed cleaver... Need a free-hand to hold what you're cutting. It's going to be a beast, but I still want it usable.

Here's the template... Going to go burn up my buddy's old Do-All tomorrow morning... Top one is for the Build-off, bottom one is for the wife. Cutting a push dagger out of the scrap for a future project. The build-off blade got a lot bigger than previously planned

Look forward to seeing it done. I made a few cleavers out of harrow discs years ago.

Removed a lot of metal today... I'll take the rest off with the grinder. This thing still weighs about 7 pounds Stay tuned

    Holy shit, nice.

I had a compass, but without a map, it's just a cool toy to show you where oceans and ice are.
