What an Asshat....WTF was he practicing that close to the target anyway.
Dumbass
Thats funny.
You've never shot/trained at contact/bad breath distance?
I don't know who or what that guy is, but training at those distances is pretty common at least in LE circles.

Train that way, yes.
Video yourself, shoot yourself in the calf and STILL post the video on You Tube, no.

So when you fuck up, you get all embarrassed and act like it never happened?
Shit happens ALL the time and it's usually with an experienced shooter. That's while they call them accidents, and not purposes. It happens.
You don't have to make it out like the guy was twirling his gun around on his finger in front of the mirror yelling "yee haw"
He fucked up, and admitted it and thought maybe others might be able to learn from his experience.
I'm so fuckin far behind, it looks like I'm winning.... ┌П┐(◉_◉)┌П┐
Oops. FB posted the short version and I saw the long one on FB. Here it is.
I'm so fuckin far behind, it looks like I'm winning.... ┌П┐(◉_◉)┌П┐
Oh, absolutely. I'll be the first to admit that shit happens, and in all the years I was an LE Firearms Instructor, I saw a LOT of shit. But to then post it on YouTube? Either extremely brave, or quite a dumbass....or both.Seriously though, it took balls for him to post that in the hope others learn from his mistake.
Anyway, we train at those distances primarily because of the amount of armed encounters that occur within 7 yards (the vast majority), whether the suspect is armed or attempting to snatch your sidearm. Pretty much train as you play....a shove, draw and fire from just out of the holster. Of course he fired a bit too soon.![]()
All kidding aside, I'm just glad he's OK. Even not knowing the guy, you hate to see that happen to anyone.
He says he doesn't blame the holster (which is a blackhawk Serpa), but I do.
This is proof positive that the index finger retention release is more likely to cause an ND because you have to use your trigger finger to release the gun.
This is a good example of why one should standardize on a single holster platform and weapon combination for carry and training. Bouncing back and forth between two totally different gun/holster combos will elad to accidents more than using one platform.
I'm not saying don't own multiple guns, but if you do, train on one specific platform.
THis guy was pretty candid about his mistakes, and I applaud him for that.
