    SR-11 review

    Hey all,

Just wanted to do a quick review of the new Combative Edge SR-11. I've had it for about a week now and have been carrying it everyday since. Its in my rotation along with its older brother, the M1.

Let's start with the blade. The edge is scary sharp. The knife came hair popping sharp out of box. The tip penatrates very well. Easily punches right through cardboard. I sunk it to the hilt into a paper towel roll just by slowy pushing it. A quick stab worked well also. The jimping is not overly aggressive but serves its purpose.

The action is very smooth. Almost feels assisted. The ball detent is stronger then the M1 and cannot be easily shaked out. The frame lock on mine is sticky though. Might just be mine but to me thats not really a deal breaker. It is starting to break in now. To help it in the begining I put some sharpine marker ink on the interface where the tang meets the titanium.

The handle has awesome ergonomics. The knife feels very natural in my hand. The textured micarta provides a pretty grippy surface. I dont think anyones hands would slide off during a stab. The knife has an interesting jimping design towards the pommel of the knife. When held in a forward grip it is smooth and comfortable. In reverse grip, the jimping is more agressive. Kinda like a porcupine's quills, smooth in one direction but "pointy" in the other. Also, the pocket clip is very deep and much stronger then the one on the M1.

I think the knife would serve as nicely as both a defensive/tactical knife or a EDC tool. It carries well and performs everyday cutting routines well. It is also fast, strong, and balanced like a tactical knife should be. Either way you want to employ the knife it will excell.

    Overall I think its a 10 out of 10.

Lemme know if that helped anyone. Im not saying that I know everything about this knife, im just trying to help the other community members by sharing my opinions and experience. Your mileage may vary.

Strongdefense Guy - you have not made an introduction post in the "Testing the Waters Area"

Thank you for your impressions of this knife but you HAVE to make an intro post or we will be deleting any posts you make.

    Thanks,

Spray a little rem oil on the tang face. I know we're not "supposed" to do this, but bag it, my sebs love this and lock up rock tight, yet release without me bleeding all over when I finally get the lock free and then ride up on the edge.

I'd like pics of this too. Particularly of the lock engagement.

If Combative Edge is watching this, any chance you guys will do a spear point version?

I really like that design, I am curious about how well that micarta side will hold up to heavy use. I thought G10 was much more durable, as well as moisture, and solvent resistant. I'd like to see a long term review of this model that has had heavy use.

Hey Parker! Sorry for the long delay here.. Not sure how I missed your question. There isn't anything in the works as of yet but I'm sure we'll do variations of all the models down the road.

    Hope all is well
