So I was driving home yesterday morning. I was taking my first day off this year and had just dropped the kids off at school. It was raining a little. I came to a stop at the red light and got ready to make a simple right hand turn. Lots of bicyclists around here so I check really well for them. All clear. Then a pedestrian steps off the curb to wait for the light to change. The idiot just stands there in the crosswalk, her rain hood impairs her vision. I wait for her to look around and make eye contact so I can go.... nothing. Fuck it. I cant wait here all day so I go slow. Sure enough, just as I get in front of her she tries to go. Now she makes eye contact. First I get to see surprise and fear. Then recognition. She works with my kids in the afterschool program. Dumbass.

I go to school to pick my kids up that afternoon. Guess who isnt there? She got creamed by a car a block or two later. Broken ribs, punctured lung...I think they said something about her spleen. Dumbass.

She'd probably pushed her luck for a long time before this and her number just came up.

You can only tempt fate so much. Eventually, you gamble and lose.

Some people simply do not have common sense, much less street smarts.

Wow, that's pretty rough.

I try to always remember three things when on acid: cars are real, fire always burns, and never answer the phone. Idiot.

When people do that here, I just lay on the horn. They see me then.

Nothing about the pancreas ?
It's just as well.:bwah:
Bummer for her.
Till the lawyers get her the check.
Once your care is handed off from a M.D. to a P.A. , the levels of pain go up significantly , but the cure is that much sweeter.
