I am now the owner of a Springfield Armory, Inc. M1A and 6 milsurp magazines. In a wood stock; I will break it down later and take some pictures of it...

Man...I think you need to just say screw it and open up a gun shop! Love M1A1s. Something about a nice walnut stocked and scoped M1A1 that just looks right. All those leadslingers....what's your favorite?

Good for you! I fulfilled a dream when I got mine! I have used it in 2 of the Springfield M1A matches at camp perry and absolutely love it! Can't wait to see yours. Is it new production or older? Mine came with usgi parts on it. Since I've owned it, I added a unitized gas assembly and a titanium nitride coated gas piston. It shoots better than I can.

In 1977 I bought a hardly used Springfield Armory National Match model in the 3000 serial number range for $600.
I hope I get to fire it someday before I die! :bwah::bruce:

The short SOCOM I put into a old BM59 Nigerian wood stock I had laying around, I put a 1/4" steel rod up thru the stock/pistol grip area for strength --- i've refinished the wood after this photo -- need to take new ones.
