HT is from the area where I grew up, Indiana, and does great stuff! Has been making for 10 years and just recently decided his work was finally good enough for "public consumption" his words.

Tactical Tanto

The tactical tanto is 3/16" crucible D-2 steel, hand rubbed to a 220 grit finish and then heat colored to a light bronze color for low reflectivity. the first 2" of the edge is serrated, the rest is just really sharp.
The tang is fileworked for traction at the top and bottom where the thumb and forefinger make contact with it. The entire blade is tapered from the beginning of the tanto point (the thickest) all the way to the end of the tang, resulting in a knife that is forward balanced for chopping and carries enormous strength near the point.
The handles are carbon fiber held on by 1/2" stainless tubing. The four holes are added for multiple reasons: to improve grip traction in the hand, to reduce tang wieght, and so that the knife can easily be lashed to a tree branch as a camp hatchet.
