There are two m96's models out there. one is a mauser rifle. a bolt action which shoots 6.5X55mm ammunition.

Stoner 63's were the shit. They are cool as shit but fussy. The M96 looks cool since an original would be hard to get even with a two fists full of 100's. I had a Japanese made AR180 once that reminded me of those cool 60's designs.
Planning on going postal, :ron: ?
BTW, Beretta Cougars come in .45 ACP, so you can have it both ways.

My brother had a Swedish 96 Mauser, it was a really nice rifle
Kimber had reworked it and put a fluted, match grade .308 barrel on it
shot like a house on fire. His son pawned it though...............I wanted to kick his ass

Oh man that sounds sweet...the rifle, not the ass kicking... My dad-in-law has one that is stock, and it shoots pretty good as is.

Mine is 101 years old and still going strong, 6.5 x 55 is a sweet shooting round.
