this is a customized bali i did about a week ago. i think it came out pretty good..let me know what you guys think about this one..i plan to do more of these with different patterns and filework designs.
this is one of the knifekits.com typhoon s trainer that was designed by darrel ralph. all i did was the customizing.
soon i will be doing a few of my own start to finish but in the mean time these are fun to do..

looks pretty good considering your pics are so blurry. it would be cool if you could get some in focus.

maybe make parts of it satin to give it some contrast?
other than that, it looks phenomenal.
great job

Nice work ! I also would like to see some better pix if you can :devil1:
Question, you stated that it is the trainer, did you sharpen the blade ? , if so could you give some feedback how the sharping took to the blade steel and method ? It looks to have a edge..
Great idea for a "true to owner" custom Bali !
I may just have to break out some files :semper::semper:

it took an edge great the typhoon trainers from knifekits.com are aus8a thats fully hardened and tempered the just dont have the edge..but they do kinda hint on the site that it can be sharpened..i sharpened on a 400 grit belt the honed it to a razors egde..very sharp..i didnt use any files though just some bullet cone grinders and some dremel sanding drums. then smoothed the drind line with some cratex abbrasives..polished it up on the buffer and put an edge on it and it came out smooth...
even though these are just "trainers" they are still balanced really well and flip like no tomorrow..darrel ralph made these things right! i love the knife and would recommend all bali lovers to pick one up and for 60 bucks you cant beat it..just do some customizing and you got yourself one hell of a bali...my only problem with the knife is it is a little small to my likin. i like a full size bali and these are just about an inch shorter in length that a bm 42 or an arc angel..
i will try and get some better pics posted up today...
