bone-breaker notch on bottom
Is that what those little notches are called? Are they sharpened? What do you do, place the notch on a bone ya wanna snap and give the base of the spine a good hard whack?

Cliff, You lay the leg bone of squirrels, birds, etc. across the notch and place your thumb on top of the bone and give it a twist applying pressure from the corners of the notch to the bone. When it breaks then you can cut it off. THe notches can be sharpened if you desire with a rod and sandpaper. THe bones never get down in the bottome of the notch.

That would be pretty hard on the edge of most knives.

Aw c'mon, don't you guarantee that your knives can penetrate the quarter panel of a car and keep asking for more?:nana: Thanks for taking the time to respond to my ruminations.
