Finally got this bad boy in and it was worth the wait. If you have never handled a Tripwire, you owe yourself the pleasure. Dwaine is a great guy to deal with too. :gogdog: :gogdog:

Very cool Art!! Is that Coyote Brown G10? And does your Ti side have alot of blue color to it? :) :)

Thanks Raoul, actually there are probably at least 10 or so. :) :)

Earl,
What's the difference between the Type 7 and Type 8? And do you use them? If so how do you like them performance wise?

thanks,

oil

7 is Tanto and 8 is clip point. Dwaine explains the different models pretty well on his website. www.airkatknives.com (http://www.airkatknives.com)

No....haven't needed to use them yet. Have carried them though and they fit better in your pocket than you would think. These are big and super thick knives. :)

The Full Ti refers to the handle. All Tripwires come with a Stainless blade and a Ti frame. The other side of the knife is the only thing Dwaine will give options on; G10, Carbon Fiber and now Titanium. :)

Excuse my ignorance, but what is wire edge exactly?

Earl,

Wire Edge

It means that those of us that can see the clear jagged wire chips on the edge--know that the edge is not sharp and will not cut much of anything.

I think that Tom pretty much summed up the ability of the knife in his review.

It is both obvious to me and baffeling what the knife is actually for.

I mean no disrespect to the maker--he obviously knows his market and sells all he can make.

My hat is totallly off to him.

Thanks for the post Mike. I figured that's what "wire edge" was. I bet I could cut open a skull with a nice full swing...... :)

I read Tom's review, I agree....it's not much of an EDC, more like a war-weapon. Since I am not in a war, personally, I guess it's just a collector's item for me. Now if those rag heads would just try and invade Texas I might get more use out of it and my 10,000 rounds of .223 ammo. :) :)

Phil - yes, it's my pet of about 6 years. She doesn't get out of her cage much, so it was easy to get her to "stay". :) :)

Earl, your knives are what I call drop dead gorgeous!!!! Lucky you!!! I am a fixed blade guy, but Dwaine Carillo's folders are the best I've seen. I also love his fixed blade models. I, personally, love a knife that is large enough to easily hang on to plus I love that hefty, weighted feel in my hand. Love your photos!!!!! :roxxor: :goodpost:

Hey this ones up from Febuary! I may have missed it:ropeman:
Damm Earl, This is a nice one!! I like that the Screws(STUDS LOL) are just about flush with the scales. I noticed that it's a real mother to extract from the pants without taking the pocket along with it.http://www.jerzeedevil.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gif
Definately a fine group of Tripwires! Can't wat to see the other designs Dwain has coming out.

Thanks fellas. Still have the full Ti speciman, the others have moved on. Just don't have much use for a skull splitter like these folders are. The full Ti is just too cool to get rid of IMO, I love the contrasting pattern. :madaddy:
